Each fall Club members head to our Vermont Lodge and tackle all sorts of improvement projects and repairs. Every year the highlight of "Work Weekend" is the fabulous meal prepared for our crew of hard workers!
Work Weekend 2023
Thank you to all the members who participated in this years work weekend- the fresh coat of paint on the lodge looks great!
Work Weekend 2013
Thank you to all the members who participated in a Work Weekend! The Lodge looks great and is ready for the season!
Work Weekend 2010
Thanks to everyone who participated in a Work Weekend! In addition to all the regular maintenance & checks that are performed each year, the front deck was replaced and a new toilet installed in the upstairs half bath. One of the refrigerators died over the summer and that has been replaced as well. New combination door locks were installed on the front door and the ski room door.
Work Weekend 2009
Thank you to the club members who donated their time this year to help keep our Lodge looking good! Our biggest project this year was a complete gutting and renovation of Bromley. There are now brand new, freshly painted walls making the room brighter & lighter, as well as other needed repairs. The front deck was scraped & stained, the oil tank received a new coat of paint and numerous heating/electrical issues were addressed. The toaster shelf was lowered in the kitchen (now you can actually plug in the toaster!). The bathroom near Mt. Snow received new towel bars, shelf & wall art. The club sign at the end of the driveway was repaired. The boiler, hot water heater, oil tank & CO2 detectors were serviced. A variety of other cleaning & maintenance items were also taken care of meaning our Lodge is now ready to go for the new season!
Work Weekend 2008
Much was accomplished during our two work weekends. Plumbing, carpentry & painting was done. Both decks were re-stained, a new, insulated door to the ski room installed, and water damaged sheetrock replaced. An additional shelf was added under the TV and a thermostat was installed in the living room. The roof was checked, nail pops caulked and gutters cleaned & fastened. Overgrown weeds around the house were removed. The bar refrigerator was turned 90° to allow for easier access to the contents. (i.e., beer) Many thanks to all those who worked very hard at the lodge and special thanks to our work weekend chefs for the fabulous dinners!
Work Weekend 2007
Club members spent two weekends tackling over 30 projects. Our Ski Room workbench was tidied and one of our provisional members constructed a new bench, giving us a convenient place to sit & put on our boots. The upstairs bathroom repairs were completed and the walls repaired & repainted. All of our emergency lights were inspected. (A power outage over the 2nd work weekend gave us a chance to see which ones were out!) The lodge also received a good cleaning. Thanks to everyone who came up & volunteered their time to make everything ready for another season!
Work Weekend 2006
Work Weekend 2006 lasted for several weekends as over 25 members took on a variety of improvement projects. Major renovations were done downstairs to reconfigure the space, providing access to the former men's dorm bathroom by all the lower level rooms. The old, wooden bunks continued to be dismantled & replaced with modern metal bunk beds. A new trash bin was constructed and the window sills in the bedrooms & kitchen were replaced. The outside doors, deck, railing, outdoor windows and downstairs bathroom received fresh coats of paint. The fireplace was re-grouted and the winter's wood delivery was neatly stacked & covered. The dining room tables were re-covered and the bedrooms were spruced up with new curtains. The kitchen sink and refrigerator ice maker were repaired and all the kitchens and bathrooms received a thorough cleaning. Many members have continued adding to our "wall art" with donations of framed ski posters and trail maps. The workers enjoyed our traditional, hearty "Work Weekend Dinner" in recognition of all their hard work!
